1. Tangier Airport to Asilah Distance
Asilah, famous for its charming fortified medina and ramparts overlooking the Atlantic, is the closest seaside resort to the airport.
- Distance: Approximately 35 kilometers.
- Average travel time: 35 to 45 minutes by car via the A5 highway.
How to Get There?
- Grand Taxi: This is the most authentic option. You can hire a private grand taxi right outside the airport terminal. The fare is around 200 to 250 MAD (€20–€25).
- Rental Car: Very convenient if you plan to explore the wild beaches to the south (Sidi Kacem, Briech). The route is straightforward: exit the airport and take the A5 highway heading south.
- Private Transfer: The most comfortable solution, especially if traveling as a family or with lots of luggage. The driver awaits you with a name sign. Fare: around €35–€40.
2. Tangier Airport to Tetouan Distance
Tetouan, nicknamed the “White Dove” for the radiant white walls of its UNESCO World Heritage-listed medina, is located on the Mediterranean coast across the peninsula.
- Distance: Approximately 65 kilometers.
- Average travel time: 1h15 to 1h30 by car via the National Route 2 (N2).
How to Get There?
- Grand Taxi: Although grand taxis run to Tetouan from the airport, it is often simpler (and cheaper) to take a taxi to the Tangier bus station, then catch a CTM or Supratours bus. If you hire a private grand taxi directly from the airport, expect around 400 MAD (€40).
- Rental Car: The route along the N2 offers scenic rolling hills. Driving also gives you easy access to Tetouan’s neighboring beaches (Martil, Cabo Negro, M’diq).
- Private Transfer: Ideal for arriving directly at your hotel stress-free after your flight. Expect around €60–€70 for a comfortable van.

- Tolls: If you rent a car to drive to Asilah, keep some cash (Dirhams) handy for the A5 highway toll.
