The Airport Terminal
Find your way easily at Tangier-Ibn Battouta Airport.
A unique and functional building
Tangier-Ibn Battouta International Airport is organized very simply: it operates today with a Single Terminal that brings together under the same roof all commercial flights (international and domestic) operated by airlines such as Ryanair, Air Arabia, or Royal Air Maroc.
Current Terminal Organization
The building is compact and very easy to navigate. It is divided in a classic way:
- Departures Area: Check-in counters, security checkpoints, customs, then access to the boarding lounge including the duty-free area, cafes and the VIP Lounge.
- Arrivals Area: Passport control (Border Police), baggage carousels, customs clearance, and a large public hall housing car rental agencies and currency exchange offices.
The ONDA Extension Project
To cope with the spectacular increase in the number of travelers visiting the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, ONDA (National Airports Office) has launched an ambitious extension project. A new high-capacity terminal is planned (and under construction). Once completed, it will expand commercial areas and significantly improve passenger flow, but for now, everything goes through the existing terminal.
Practical Advice:
As the airport is still on a very human scale thanks to its single terminal, you do not need to walk long distances. However, plan to arrive 2 to 2.5 hours before your international flight, especially in summer, as queues at passport and security control can be long.
